Luxury Holiday Accomodation

Ive known a Cypriot family since childhood one of them is still a good pal of mine today the father moved back home about 20 years ago when their mother died the brother about 10 years ago.....the brother has a normal house but the father has for years lived in this ramshackled old gaff in the middle of nowhere.......ive been talking about going over there for ages so recently thought id have a week there.....i ended up staying a month they couldnt get rid of me :D im getting quite addicted to this wilderness lifestyle im finding living close to nature with just the very basics to stay alive somewhat soul cleansing !.....all we had for entertainment was the land the animals and each other had some great walks across some cracking land there is only 5 neighbors within a 15 mile radius......the old man barely speaks English but some of the real in depth conversations we all had about all aspects of life were great.....which is something you dont often do in the hussle and bussle of normal life.

When i got out the dogs some years back i sent the old man over one of my last dogs which he still has a son of today.......he was a very well bred competition dog yet this dog has lived its entire life on this land he has a kennel but rarely uses it he just drifts from neighbor to neighbor they all see him a few times per week feed and water him and he,s off again he must cover 40 miles every week just drifting around.......ive found it remarkable how a dog can go against its instincts in order to suit its surroundings with the dogs breeding he should be wanting to fight anything with fur or feather......but he is the most chilled out dog of his breeding ive ever seen and just blends into his surroundings and accepts other dogs no problem,he,s never even worn a collar !.....he gets in the odd scrape but more often than not will just pop in say hello, eat, kip and move on !

The third day i was home i was at the 02 Arena for the Froch fight....talk about different worlds i couldnt cope with the noise after the month id just had !!......Anyway thought id share some pics.....check the front door, even has a working doorbell

Sounds like a great plan...the older I get the less I need 'stuff'   Peaceful lifestyle and not feeling like I am a slave to the banks etc would suit me fine!

I dont really know mate i wasnt looking that deep......i just meant the feeling i got from owning a nice house or nice car( material things )............didnt compare to the feeling i got from the mon

I`m off to kos in a few I`ve stayed in same familys apartments about 12 times ---I `ve spent time on there farm gone shooting with them fished with them I love the way of life takes me a few week to re adjust when I get back ..my brother took 2 hounds over to spain when he moved over there they where around 3 year old I saw them after they`d been there for about a year totally different dogs chilled out/laid back and adjusted to the heat..

I can understand completely where you are coming from ... My worst nightmare would to be living in a busy environment ... I love the peace and tranquility the countryside brings me ... I can walk out of my front door and lose myself for hours on end and not see a single soul and I absolutely love that feeling ..........

For me it was the total opposite......i never saw fields or trees till i was in my thirties :D .......when i first started spending time in the countryside i hated it i was a hundred mile an hour sort of person and so couldnt wait to get back amongst my own !..........But its grown on me over time and now i feel totally comfortable in isolation like that......still not sure i could live that way but then there was a time i wouldnt of spent even 1 night in remote country so you never can tell i guess.

And no Sussex its Southern Cyprus about 10 miles from Paphos.
